Brixelgarden and Museum
During the fall of 2020 you can visit Brixelgarden in smaller groups by making a private booking request through telephone.
At the shore of lake Hjälmaren, close to the city of Arboga, Richard Brixel built his home and studio with different galleries and a 12,000 m² museum park.
Outside and inside many sculptures as well as paintings, drawings and lithographs meet the eyes and minds of the visitors.
Brixelgarden and museum offers an art and cultural experience with several dimensions; garden and seascape, nature and art.
In the park are full-scale models of some major public sculptures that Brixel has created over the years.
“Dream” for the Olympic Park next to the Bird’s Nest in Beijing, the sculptures over Formula 1 drivers “Ferrari-Schumacher”, “Magic Senna” and ” Ronnie Peterson”, Speedway World Champion “Ove Fundin”, “Balance”, ”Beauty”, “Aeolus” and “Skidbladner” a sculpture for the UNESCO World Heritage Site L’Anse aux Meadows, Newfoundland, Canada and many more large and small works.
Brixelgarden is a monastery-like private sculpture garden for art, work, contemplation and talks.
The studios are designed by Brixel to inspire the life of art.
Art lovers, art collectors and groups interested in art are welcome to visit Brixelgarden, after appointment by e-mail or telephone.
We will guide you through the park and the galleries for 150 SEK per person.
Please reserve about 2 – 3 hours for the tour since there is quite a lot to see and walk to the different sites on Brixelgarden.
We can offer meals on special occasions but in the nearby town of Arboga there are good restaurants.
